ABOUT ME
Hola! I'm Kanyaka, a Brand and Packaging designer as well as a mixed-media artist based in Mumbai.
Over the past 3.5 years at Landor GDS (Global Design Studio), I've collaborated across the USA, EU, and APAC Landor studios, contributing to projects spanning FMCG, corporate identity, and large-scale identity systems for global brands. Working within a globally distributed studio has shaped what I consider one of my greatest strengths: a genuine fluency in different regional design sensibilities. I don't just understand these differences intellectually, I've built within them.
My path into design was unconventional. After graduating in finance, I found my way here through a more personal door: the weathered sketches of my late great-grandfather, a commercial artist working in 1940s Bombay. Discovering his work quietly reoriented everything and ultimately led me to a practice rooted in both craft and curiosity.
I work across brand identity, typography, packaging, and editorial design, always guided by systems thinking and emotional storytelling. I'm drawn to creating identities that carry both strategic clarity and human resonance. My process often begins with language, culture, and feeling before it reaches form.
Fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Spanish, I'm especially interested in work that crosses cultures, not just markets. I enjoy building brands that feel locally meaningful while remaining globally relevant.
I'm particularly drawn to studios and brands that value cultural nuance, strategic rigor, and thoughtful craft.
