This project is a heartfelt blend of my passion for typography, my love for Indian cultural scripts, and my constant curiosity to reinterpret traditional forms through a modern lens. It is rooted in the belief that Indian letterforms are not only rich in history and rhythm but are inherently expressive and adaptable.
Each character in this series is treated as a living entity—almost like a person with its own personality, attitude, and flair. Some are bold and playful, others more poised and structured. I see letters as beings; they speak before they are even read. This is where I have the most fun—infusing character into the curves, the strokes, and the interplay between form and counterform.
The Indian script system, with its geometric base and flowing forms, offers a unique playground for visual experimentation. In this work, I’ve explored how Devanagari characters can be stylized while preserving their soul, reimagining them with a bold, modular aesthetic that sits comfortably between tradition and modernity. The vibrant color palette and graphic treatment reflect my attempt to make these forms resonate with contemporary design sensibilities, while still honoring their origins.
At its core, this project is a celebration—a celebration of language, identity, and visual storytelling through letterforms.
